Infomercials
The word infomercial is a combination of two words, information and commercial. Ideally, a good infomercial combines useful, sometimes entertaining information with the selling power of a traditional television commercial.
There is both an art and a science to producing a successful direct response infomercial or commercial. Nearly all direct response commercials have these elements: problem setup, solution, demonstration, testimonials, sense of urgency, call to action and incentive for acting immediately.
Short-form infomercial – direct response television messages that are 30 seconds to two minutes in length are generally referred to as “short-form” informercials, or DRTV, and fit into typical station or network commercial breaks.
