Write Your Own Patent Applications

Almost all accomplished inventors write their own patent application. You can too.

In fact, you should because it will improve the quality of your patent protection. You should be thinking about all the various design arounds during this process and including them in your application as well. You can't rely on your attorney to do this...he's not an expert in your field.

Once it's written, have your attorney review the application to ensure it's properly written. After all, even if you did have your attorney write and file the application for you, you will still have to provide him with some form of draft or information. So why not write it down, based on US law and save yourself a lot of time and a lot of money. Be assured your patent attorney will be pleased to see you do this.
